are the new Core 2 Duos going to be available to buy on July 22?

I'm trying to plan out building a new computer and it's making me antsy eying the rising RAM prices and expiring rebates and good deals I've found online. Plus, I've already made arrangements with my dad to buy my old computer since his is painfully slow. A part of me just wants to start ordering parts now, but I still don't know what to expect on July 22nd. I'm hoping I'll be able to check newegg and see the E6750s in stock. And is the $183 price the MSRP or will there be a markup from resellers? It's just bothering me that I haven't seen any online stores advertising the new processors and they're still selling the old Core 2's at the old prices. Who would pay $320 on an E6700 today when the E6750s will be out and significantly cheaper in 2 days. I don't know if they're relying on the lack of awareness from general buyers or if there's some important detail I'm missing.

I would like to believe, if the stores don't already have the CPUs then they'll have them shortly.

Current prices will drop though.

I was on newegg last night and seen a q6600 for 266. I was going to buy it, but had to hold off till the end of the month.

Don't know if they jumped the gun or are just taking preorders or what, but seems newegg has already lowered their price, at least, on the q6600, as of last night.

Not sure where you seen 266 but I have been waiting and on Newegg every hour on the hour for the past week to see the price drops. It was at 399 this morning and 420 or was it 440 as of last week.

As far as the GO stepping I do not think they will be selling those for a while.

Well, I broke down and decided to order my parts, so I have everything being shipped now except for the CPU, which I'm waiting to get when the E6750 comes out. Hopefully I won't get screwed over with that and it will be available sunday or monday. I just became paranoid with the prices since the case I wanted suddenly had free shipping today on newegg. That's $17 off right there, plus a rebate. And the memory I wanted has dropped a few dollars over the last couple days. Dropped one more dollar today. I wanted to snag that while it was still cheap too, and also to make sure I qualify for its rebate. If all goes planned, I'll be able to save $120 off my original total price for all of my components.

I've seen the E6750 for as low as $208. I didn't trust the store though. It didn't have security authentication on the pages where you enter your account password or put in your credit card info.

when will they drop the price of the E6600 because even stores that show they have the new processors have the E6600 still more expensive than the E6750

MWave has it for $195. I'm really tempted, but I don't have the money yet, so I'm waiting to see if Newegg gets it soon.

I've bought something from MWave before, but I'm not sure what others think of it. Anyone else have any opinions?

Also, does anyone know when newegg will get the E6750?

Yep...I just bought the E6750 from mwave.com. It was only $195 like thephatp said. I have a few parts on the way from them already. So far, I have found their customer service to be good (I called with a question a few weeks back).

Oh yeah...I was thinking that the prices were higher than the charts I saw. The chart said E6750 was only $183. Don't be an idiot like me and forget this is the price per thousand chips :)

Ok...hope that helps you out.

Funny thing is that USD vs CDN Dollar they're worth almost amount *1.00 USD = 1.04729 CAD @ 9:35pm July 22nd* But on top of that you have to add tax and some other charge which will round it to 800$ total(For those wanting to say that it's only 758$)

True, I looked around Tigerdirect.com(US site) and the maximum price for that is still a good 100$ lower(factoring Currency Conversion) your Quad is about 570$ while the Canadian Quad converted directly is worth 760$USD about 190$USD more in Canada vs US Counterpart

That's a DELETED load of money, we can get a AMD Athlon 64 FX - 62 for that price + a tube of AS5(When you convert USD 190$ to CND)
