DNS cache help

I'm trying to connect to a wireless network (2wire gateway) on a linksys WMP55AG (v1)* adapter, I can stay online as long as I'm doing something (ie: as long as something is downloading) but as soon as it stops the connection dies, there also seems to be a time limit (of about 20 minutes) or a package limit (of about 150k received), when it crashes I have to reboot in order to reestablish a connection and each time I try to repair it, I always get stuck on flushing the dns cache.

I've already tried reinstalling the driver for my adapter and ipconfig/flushdns. Unfortunately those are the only two methods I know of. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I can't establish connection to secure websites (https) while the network is online.

Try to assign a specific DNS servers.Try openDNS!
