Intel Enhanced Speedstep

Hey everyone I have a question, I have an Intel core 2 Duo E6600 on an MSI p6n Platinum SLI, when I disable the enhanced speedstep cpu-z still reads that the processor is running at 1600mhz instead of the usual 2400mhz, is this normal?

Did you save and exit BIOS after disabling speedstep. Is there another BIOS setting needed to be disabled on the MSI board to disable that function. You can probably just adust your FSB from the default 266 and the CPU will run at that enhanced speed.

Yeah I did save and exit, and it still seemed as if it was never disabled, there might be another feature I have to disable, Ill have to look into it a little more, maybe check out the MSO manual.

If you can't get it disabled, just up the FSB from 266. That should do it.
