Okay, I've been checking into these two mobo chipsets and what I found is that the 680i SLI gives only about a 5% max increase in performance, and the only reason you might want the 680i is if you are using SLI because 650i SLI can only do 2 8x instead of 2 16x PCI-e. But I still hear everyone screaming about the 680i board, but from what I found they are no where near worth the extra $100. Am I missing something?

The 650i SLI also has less sata and usb ports. It also has only 1 Ethernet port instead of 2. The 680 boards support sli ready memory with epp. The 680i SLI (not the 680i LT SLI) supports up to 1200MHz ram. The rest of the 600 series supports up to 800MHz.

The 650 is a stripped down 680. If you don't need all the extra ports and features the 650 may be a good choice for you.

I don't need SLI or the extra ports so I ended up buying a 650i ultra.
