Hello,troubleshooting : I was sent a recovery discs as well as a new hard drive.
setting changes : Thus far, nothing has changed with the exception that when I power up it makes a loud beeping noise. I always had two computers so this was never a problem, now I need this one fixed. Please advise.

Beeping is what we call post. Power On Self Test the duration and number of beeps tell you what is going on with your hardware.
1 short beep - all is good
1 long beep - memory problems.
