Hi guys, I am about to build a new system with a Core 2 6750, a Gigabyte P35-DQ6 mobo and I had some questions regarding the memory

I'm thinking about buying OCZ Reaper 1150 kit, I plan to overclock and also run on water cooling

Now for my questions, does higher memory frequency mean better overclocking potential ? My athlon 64 depended on how much the memory would overclock. So running an FSB of 500 means the memory would have to be stable at 1000Mhz or I can change that with dividers ?

If I don't need the fastest memory for the fastest possible overclock than I am going to get some cheaper memory than the one mentioned above and spend the money on something else

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys...

Yes, faster memory would typically mean higher clocks, as well as higher overclocking potential.

You can change your memory speeds by changing the FSB/Memory ratio.

I don't know that you would need the 1150 memory to get that overclock. Any decent DDR2 1066 memory would do you just as good, and would be significantly cheaper priced.
