how do i transfer a dvd home movie from disc to my computor

Basically you need to do something called Ripping
Therefore you need a program to Rip the movie of the dvd and store it on the pc as a file.
Try Dvd Shrink.
This will allow you to rip the film off the dvd and store it in a folder on the pc
