HUGE edit from previous build. This one will spill over the 1000$ mark but I'm okay with that. I'm going with non-SLI and getting the E6750 Intel CPU along with a 1333FSB Mobo. PLEASE (!!!) tell me what you think. The only parts I am concerned about are Memory, Video Card, and Power Supply. Any suggestions will be well taken.

Hey all,
It's been a while since I've built a computer and I'm not familiar with all the hocus pocus, dual core craziness but so far I have compiled a table of the things I want, their priority, and cost. I am trying to build a computer which will overclock well and deliver the most bang for buck and maintain somewhat of a foothold on the gaming scene for the next few years. That is why I favor the SLI mobo. Right now, the cost is hanging around 1000$ and I want to keep it as close to that as possible. If your suggestions convince me to spend a bit more, I am willing to spend a little more to get the most out of my computer. This is the second time I've used a forum so this should be fairly interesting! Thanks all.

Why on earth is that Corsair RAM so much more than the Mushkin? Am I missing something there because if not then the Corsair is definitely not the better deal.

A 620W Corsair would be another good PSU option, as would a Seasonic or PC Power & Cooling unit. Nothing really wrong with OCZ though.

Other than that, looks good.

I'll just comment on your primary system. Way too much $ for the memory, you can get a Corsair XMS2 DDR 800 2GB kit for $124 -$40 rebate on newegg, $84. With the money saved get a 640MB version of 8800 GTS, 320mb most likely won't be enough for upcoming games like Crysis. Rest looks fine.

I have no idea. Everything seems to be the same in terms of specs but one costs ridiculously more than the other.

I don't know what to think about RAM. What are the differences between the 640MB and the 320MB 8800GTS? Would it be a good choice to stick with a crappier video card until the next generation video cards come out so I can save some money? Feedback please :D
