Hey guys, this is my first post here, and it is only due to this question :)

I just ran the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and was given a reading I was not expecting for my system I am building in the next few weeks.

It gave me a reading of about 890 Watts needed, and heres what i will be running :

q6600 oc'd to around 3.2-3.4
evga 680i board
evga 8800 GTS 320mb OC'd in SLI
ultra chilltec Tec cooler
1x 150gb WD Raptor (am adding another later)
2gb pc 6400 Crucial Ram low latency (overclocked)

Anyways, im kinda curious as to why I am given such a High reading. I was estimating that a 750 watt PSU would be more than enough. Am i wrong?

and if i am, any suggestions (that are able to be ordered in canada? :) )

Thanks in advance,

(oh and in advance as to why the 2x 320mb version...I won one and got the other at half price so..i figured why not ;) )

I tried it using your rig Pushing it, putting in that your using a high end mobo, 2volts on the cpu@3.4ghz, 4 sicks of 880gts in sli , but with 2x dvd burners and 3x 120mm fans, the ultra chill tec and then all at 100% usage= 821watts. Unless you wanna fry it I dought you will be reunning a 2v core. Even at 1.5volt core, you *only* need a 680watt psu.
