I'm about to buy a new computer, intended pretty much for gaming. The setup I'm going for is:

Antec P182 case

MSI P6N Diamond motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.0GHz) CPU

4Gb (4 x 1) OCZ SLI-Ready PC6400

MSI 8800GTX OC-edition

2 x 150Gb WD Raptor in RAID-0

The problem is I can't decide which monitor to get. I'm thinking a 22" or 24" widescreen, but which one should I go for? At first I thought the LG L226WTQ, but that turns out to have ghosting issues. Then the Samsung 226BW came to mind, but I don't want to buy a ticket in the panel lottery and hope I get an "S" panel.... Does anybody know if the Samsung 245BW is any good?

i got 22" (cheap V7 brand, but is perfectly fine) for like $200. I am glad I did not go for 24", my 8800 320 would sweat. Plus 24" is huge anyhow, perfectly good for gaming.

I would say to gor for the 22" two. I own the Samsung 226bw and I have to say, it's a beauty with 2ms responce time and 3000:1 dynamic contrast. You relly don't need anything thats bigger than a 20" so I think the 24"er would just be overkill.

I got the Gateway 24" monitor and don't regret it at all. Isn't too big, and whomever has a problem with an 8800 and a 24" monitor has no clue.

Currently running my 24" on a BFG 7950 GT, and in most games, C&C3, WoW, CSS etc, all the eye candy is maxed, and it looks beautiful.

if a 24" is in your price range, the 22" just isn't worth your time.

Though I'll probably go with at least a 30" the next time I upgrade my monitor, but then that is me.

If I would have had the $, I would have went straight to 24". 22" is nice and plenty of space, but I like the resolutions on 24" better. I'd get a nice Dell or Samsung 24" if it fits in your budget.

I think I've decided on the BenQ FP241W. It's a bit pricey, but according to most reviews, worth it....
