I have a tosiba dlp tv, pioneer receiver with component and svideo in/out, a
toshiba hdmi dvd, expressvu 6000 hd sat receiver and dish 2700 receiver

Will a harmony remote control everything and give me all the functions of
each device, i.e, switching surround modes on the receiver, changing aspect
ratios on the tv, changing the 6000 receiver from std. to high def, changing
720p/1080i on the dvd player?

Yes, the harmony will do everything that your original remotes can do.
If it can't do it after programing it, you can teach it how to do it.

It may not be as convenient to use as the original remotes, though; if
there's not a dedicated button for the function, and if there's not a
spare button that you can program, you have to use the buttons assigned
to the LED screen, and there are only six of those--but you can have as
many groups of six that necessary.

Overall, I'm very happy with mine.

They're supposedly coming out with a new model in a month or two (if
they're on schedule) that might have more buttons for functions.

They always seem to have new models. I still really like my SST-659.
The best money I spent after my HDTV. The Harmony Remote makes using
your entertainment center user friendly again. Configure it hoever you
want on your computer! Ease of use key!

One remote to rule them all!

I've been really happy with mine. My only complaint would be you have to
futz around to get some of the features of your old remotes to work.
Example, My Yamaha receiver has like 8 surround features. The list Harmony
has for those features are all named surround. Takes a little work to
figure out which is which and rename in the LCD so the WIFE and Kids know
what they are.

If you are interested in remotes, check out Neweggs prices. I got mine
for $50 off and still got in under the wire for the 25% rebate.

I control my Toshiba wide screen; my DTV DVR; my DTV HD tuner; my Onkyo
stereo receiver; my DVD player; and my six pack of BUD.

Trying to figure out how to control my dog with it.

Supreme couch potato!

It's not that they're all named the same, but that the names are too
long for the display.
