I am going to start doing some minor upgrades to my gaming system. Im thinking I should get rid of the E6300 and go for the E6850 (3.0GHZ). I have a Saphire x1900xtx, will this bog my "enhanced" system when Im done with the upgrades. I've never overclocked so I dont think I will be doing it anytime soon.
Yeah, hold off on a new card for now. The second round of DX10 cards will be here soon, and by then there may actually be DX10 apps worth playing in DX10 mode.
i would hold both cpu and gpu for now, you will never know if you'll need to change your motherboard for newer stuff like. this upgrade is good but not worth it, e6300 and x1900xtx are considered good.
I was probably going to start upgrading in september or sometime between september and december. Sorry I forgot to mention that besides the CPU, i was also going to upgrade my mobo also--possibly the new Gigabyte P35 the one that supports QuadCore and C2D. Thank you for the info guys, I'll hold my x1900xtx and wait for the newer DX10 cards. I was looking to change the mobo, should I still hold off on the upgrades?
Id wait, as said, til all options are on the table, as far as vid card goes, I have both the 1900xt 512mb and a 8800GTS, and really, there isnt that much of an upgrade. If you go with a GTX, then Id say yes, but for the cost, and being 3 to 4 months off the new releases Id wait on that as well, seeing in 4 months your 500+ dollars will get you a much better, truer DX10 card. And since you dont oc, waiting for Penryn and Phenom would make sense as well, as both these cpu's will outdo any C2D out now, and for alot less, youll be able to pick a better one up, or go new. If your gaming isnt truly suffering at this point , Id wait

I'd only upgrade if your X1900XT isn't running games they way you'd like. The only card that would be a serious upgrade at this point would be an 8800GTX, otherwise you're wasting money.
