The Extreme Striker vs the Asus P5n32-E Sli 680 Board: (read its worth saving some money)

http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=616

MotherBoard:

A SUS Striker Extreme LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX The Ultimate Gaming Motherboard - $299.00

ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - $ 209.00

With the money you save you can upgrade to EVGA 8800GTX card instead

EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - $379.99

EVGA 768-P2-N835-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SUPERCLOCKED HDCP Video Card - $584.99

Make sure your RAM is listed on the Asus QVL (qualified vendor list) www.asus.com - find your board and download section

If you go with the P5n32-E Sli 680 Board instead of Striker and want 4 Gigs I know this RAM works because I'm running it in my machine right now:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227179&Tpk= OCZ2T8002GK

Model # OCZ2T8002GK (2 - 1024 sticks) = $119.99 x 2 = $239.98

Stacker 832 is better if you can spend some more - more room and better parts - I didnt need a floppy drive as you can flash BIOS from a memory USB stick or update in windows vista with Asus tool.

edit - changed link to correct article comparing boards

Whew you picked some pricey RAM too? It probably isn't compatible anyway and costs $716.00 for 4 gigs? - get the P5n32-E board and the OCZ Ram and that alone will save you $566.00 (Enough for SLI GTX cards)

Yeah I just looked and it appears even putting in the model name: "OCZ2T8002GK" will result in no finds.

Well there are other RAMs on the QVL for that board - look it over. 1024 sticks in all 4 slots are rare on their list which is why I was glad my OCZ worked like a champ (After BIOS 1201)

You can probably still buy from OZC directly or choose another RAM on the ASUS QVL list.

Hey Donny,

I was going to get the Striker at first, but changed my mind. This board has to have some of the worst customer reviews for any manufacturer, much less Asus, that I've seen. Just look at the newegg reviews. (click "read all reviews, and spend a bit of time...LOTS of DOA's, then RMA problems)

Good luck
