Ok so here it is, almost noon on the Eastern side, and still no word of the release of Intel's new processors...let alone a price drop...

Anyone read anything that might update us?

I was just thinking that too, I haven't seen any vendor list the new Intel CPU's either. My only guess is that they didn't update anything throughout the weekend, and they are hopefully working on it now.

Newegg apparently ran out of stock on the Q6600 at $300 so it seems if they get more in, pending they don't get one of the last batches of B3 stepping processors from Intel, they might have the G0's.

I was looking around and I agree it's not quite as immediate as their last one but remember all these companies need to sell out of the stock they bought at a higher price and the $266 Q6600 was per 1000 so the retail price should be more like $290. Give it a few days and I think you'll see the price gradually drop.

If i'm not mistaken I bought a CPU motherboard combo from them years ago before I discovered Newegg. It was a long time (and many beers) ago but from what I remember my experience with them was good. Good find, seems to be about the only one with any 6*50 CPU's

At one time they were my preferred vendor. All my experiences with them, including returns, were positive. The last couple years their shipping and handling charges have been real deal killers for me in the midwest.

The new chips have arrived at Newegg.com.My e6750 is at $205.00 not $183.00 but that was for 1000 anyway. If you break down the chips in the c2d category you'll never find them.Just start looking for CPU's and they are on the first page.

Yeah I just noticed it on newegg too... i'm not sure how long it has been there but it doesn't appear if you search for it... i decided to manually check the cpu selection and saw it... i just ordered from newegg since overall it's cheaper for me with my Preferred card... i'm all set with my computer now... unless my old monitor ends up not working... i can't find any reliable monitor reviews for cheap 17" ones... and all monitors i see get bad reviews or aren't sold anymore

Newegg emailed me to say the Q6600 was back in stock - but has mysteriously increased in price to $320! Supply and demand at its worst.

Just ordered the e6750 for $210 on Newegg. No where near the $183 price point everyone was speculating. So pissed. I found it this morning on MWave for $195 thought there were just trying to make en extra buck before everyone else revealed it at $183. Lesson Learned.

They updated their site with the new processors too. They probably bumped up the price for everyone buying them today since the pricecut just happened. After a day or so I bet it probably fall back down.

Now comes the decision, do I buy a new CPU or stay with my E6300 and wait for the 45nm's. My credit card is screaming at me through my wallet.

There's a Best Buy right by me. What brand and model is it? I looked at their online selection but didn't see anything good and nothing priced that low.

What good news are you talking about? We already new about the price drop and we already new that the prices are no way close to what they were quoted as.
