I5 2500k issues

so, uh, will i5 2500k be useful for gaming, and apps like video encoding, 3d modelling, plus photoshop until next intel tock in 2015?or is it dead when haswell comes out?

it will still be a feasible CPU for all those tasks in 2015. the Q6600 is still a feasible CPU today (especially OC) and its been out for six years

wow, that's a relief for my OC'ed i5 2500k...thanks a lot...
planning to do a new build on 2015...

Haswell is coming in 2013.

Skylake... 2015

The i5-2500k should do fine for a few / several years depending on your expectations.

yah, currently OC'ed to 4.2 ghz..and it's fast enough to be at the top of the food chain right now..
oh well, just have to live with moore's law and do major upgrading for intel's tock at 2015..
