I'm going to buy a new computer soon and wanted to make sure I'm not making any mistakes. But I'm don't know much about computers so I need some help.

Memory:

I want to get two of those so I'll have 4gb. Will this be compatible with my motherboard even though its not on the official "supported memory" site. Also, they will run in dual channel mode because I'll use the same chips right?

MB:

The specs say: 4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory
But the memory is 2.2v. Does that mean it wont work? Even in the supported memory page, it lists 2.2v memory and I'm confused.

Another thing.. what is FSB ratio and do I have to worry about it?

The ram will work... you will just need to set it's voltage and speed manually in the bios most likely. And it's very very good ram.

FSB ratio is the ratio between the CPU fsb and your ram. Which cpu are you getting?

Nah, 4 will work fine, just won't overclock as far (the ram that is). The CPU you're getting has a 266MHz fsb. You will be able to run the ram at 533MHz using a 1:2 ratio. You will either be able to select 1:2 in bios, or simply select the ram speed from a list.

So basically, I'll be running the memory at half speed so the cpu can keep up right? If that's the case, the most efficient thing to do would be to either use only two of those sticks or to either get memory at different speeds?

I'm confused. What would you do?

Ram has speed 'ratings' that are double their actual speed. So DDR667 rated ram has an actual speed of 333MHz, DDR800 rated has actual of 400MHz, and DDR1066 rated has actual of 533MHz.

Your cpu has an fsb of 266MHz, so using a 1:2 divider (ram running at twice the speed of cpu) will give cpu fsb:ram of 266:533 so both will be running at correct speed.
