This will be my first attempt at a home built PC. I'm wanting to stay around $1500, mainly for gaming and some motion graphics and digital animation. I've been looking at hardware and components but i'm
not sure about compatibility or cooling issues. There might be better options for me but here is what i've got so far.

CPU - AMD x2 6000

MB - BIOSTAR TForce TF570SLI

PSU - SeaSonic S12 550W Power Supply

Memory - Kingston 2GB

Hard Drive - Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD5000YS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s

Video Card - EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB

or

EVGA GeForce 8600GTS 512MB

Case - Sunbeam Quarterback

Monitor - Acer AL2223Wd Black-Silver 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor

Windows Vista Home

I would appreciate any input.

Are you partial to amd? It looks like a great build, but the Core 2 Duos beat all the amd cpus. They are better at gaming as well as digital graphics.

Stick with the 8800 GTS if your a big gamer, upgrade to the 640MB if you can, if not go with the 320MB card.

stick with the 8800GTS, I think he may have gone the AMD route because it's cheaper, but I would still consider intel. Overall great work, but I would get the eVGA nForce 590 from newegg.com instead of that Biostar mobo. Flawless choice on the PSU!
