I am in the process of building a new computer as a buget gamer's computer. (AMD X2 6000+, ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe, Cosair 2 GB Ram, 500 Watt Antec PSU) However, I cannot decide on a GPU. I have about $200 to spend and was hoping at getting a DX10 card, like the 8600 GTS. My question is, is it worth getting a card like the 8600 gts or should I find an extra $100 or so and get an 8800gts 320MB? Or should I forget DX10 right now and get a card like 7900 gs, and upgrade when the price drops on the 8800's?

Whatever you do, don't get the 8600gts. If I were you, I'd get the 8800gts right now, and not worry about upgrading for a while. If you don't want to do that, a 7900gs or x1950pro are still good options for their prices.

Yes the 8800gts 320gb is worth it, but if you can not find the funds, read below on EVGA Step-up program.

You did know that EVGA has a 90 days StepUp program on there graphic cards. The way it works is you have to register the card at there site and the 90 days starts from day you buy it.

So if you decide to upgrade the graphic card within that 90 days, for example: from 7950 costing 174.99 all you do is pay the difference for new 8800 card from Evga site.

So found this at ZipZoomFly and this from Mwave.

Well thanks for the help. I'm going to try to find tthe extra cash for the 8800, but if not that step-up program is looking very nice.

Also, Dior, the reason im getting an AMD is because I can get it locally throught a reliable dealer at a much cheaper cost then online. :D
