How to remove shadows from desktop

i have done the Control panel system; advance performance settings; visual effect;Un check the use drop shadow for icon label on the desktop". But no changes also checked right click on the desktop under arrange to see if i have lock the the desktop but its not locked

DESKTOP-RIGHT CLICK-PROPERTIES-DESKTOP-CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP -WEB- DELETE THE CHECK BOX - OK THAN PLZ DONT FORGET THE APPLY AND OK IT WILL REALLY WORK I HAVE DONE RIGHT NOW
