Hi, this is my second revision for my new computer. I want a pretty fast system that'll be able to play most games around today, stay on all the time, be quiet, very reliable above all, and fast. It should last me 5 years or so, and i plan on upgrading it (maybe putting in 2 of those x1950s). I don't know if i can do that with ATI cards on an SLI motherboard.

Thanks for all your advice!

That wishlist isn't showing for me. Must be set to private?

Anyway get the E6750 over the E6600. The C2D pricing is screwed at the moment because the old CPUS have retained their value instead of coming down to be in line with the price of the new models.

Get a Gigabyte P35-DS3R instead of the 650i motherboard you posted above.

Don't buy an 8500 or 8600 series videocard if you want to play games at all. Stick to X1950Pro or 7950GT cards. And don't bother getting two video cards at that price point either; just get one card that's the best you can afford.

I don't think the NeoPower is one of Antec's 'good' PSU lines. Get the Corsair HX520 for $115.

Yeah if your budget will stretch to it then get an 8800GTS 320MB. The stock speed EVGA one can be found at Newegg for $260, but while I don't normally recommend factory overclocked cards since it's easy to do yourself, for 10 bucks more you may as well plump for the OC model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130038

If you can stretch to that much on a video card, your best options are:

Sapphire X1950XT - $145
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102067

Or a 512MB/256MB X1950 Pro, whichever you can afford.

I agree with this.

This is generally a very high quality build, no doubt about that. But if you are planning to do a lot of gaming and are restricted money wise you should scrimp on other parts and get a better graphics card.

I don't see a PSU posted up there, but if you need one then the 520W Corsair model at $115 would probably suit your rig with a single graphics card. The 620W version has more room for expansion but is obviously a bit more pricey.

thanks guys.

I don't think i can stretch to a 8800, i mostly only play older games anyways.. I saw that sapphire and still thought the HIS one was better (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-161-092)
.. I like that iceq3 cooling, supposed to be nice and quiet. The 512mb model just sold out so i'll wait and get that. It performed higher than the other OC'd cards too.

Yeah sorry about the lineup it should be fixed now..
I'd probably go with the MSI P35 Neo2-FR over the Gigabyte P35, purely because it supports crossfire (which might be useful in the future).

If i'm spending 115 on a powersupply, i mayswell get the OCZ GameXStream 700watt, which has a huge rebate:

Alth ough, I'm gonna be moving to the UK in less than a year, so won't that PSU be obsolete there? Mayswell buy a cheap 550

Thanks guys
