Any body know why i might be running into problems with my q6600 go stepping at about 3.2 Ghz. Im running 3Dmark06 and it resets while only half way through. Core temps are around 35, RAM is set at 4-4-4-12 at this time and CPU voltage is 1.45 with FSB voltage at allowable max of 1.5V.

Any suggetion would be welcome!!!

My system
Q6600 g0 2.4Ghz
EVGA 680i SLI mobo
2 Gig DDR2 800
7900gs sli (2)
600 Volt PS
Liquid cooled (thermal tank big water)

what's your cpu fsb and multiplier ?

i would check the memory speeds and try to loose your tmiings ,like 5-5-5-15. Since your motherboard supports 333 fsb, i personally don't think you need to increase voltage on fsb. i've lots of q6600 g0 getting stable with 1.36vcore or less at 3.2ghz ( i need 1.31v ). try to just stress the cpu (running orthox2 or prime95 25.3) , since your ps unit might not be able to power both vga and cpu at full load.

Your problem is the 680i SLI mobo.
I mean getting it to 3.1 on a 680i is like a freak accident in itself.

680i's are nowhere as good at ocing as even a low end P35 board.

Also all CPU's OC differently. So if your friends OC'd to 3.3, and yours is 3.0, just be happy that you broke the 2.9 barrier.

I mean I'm still surprised you got it that high on a 680i! Keep me posted on if you get it higher!

ghost, are you 12+ hours stable @ 3.2Ghz @1.31V? I had to crank mine up to 1.36v to get there. yet, I'm 12+hours stable @ 3Ghz with 1.285V. For a measly 200Mhz, it didn't seem worth it to jump up .075v.

i can get the q6600 running at 360fsb at 1.32v on bios ( 1.31 is for 356fsb ) and yes all stable on on 12+hours on prim95. at @3.0ghz i currently running at 1.21v (334x9) , while getting a fsb higher than 333 you might want to increase the fsb and northbridge voltages a little. And don't forget to look at the memory divisor, when i was trying to get 3.2 memory frequency with auto config bumped from default 800mhz to something like 1200mhz and wouldn't boot at all xD. while i can get @3.0ghz on low voltages. to reach @3.6ghz i need 1.47v to make it stable sad :/
