Differences btw workstation and normal vga card

Hello, may i know whats the differences between nvidia work station card and those gaming cards? I mean can we use work station card for gaming purpose? which one will be better if choose for gaming? thanks a lot..

Workstation cards have drivers that are optimized to render in OpenGL instead of DirectX. They can still play DirectX games, but will not play them as well. As a whole, workstation cards are more expensive and if you can afford an 8800, it will probably do as good a job at 3D rendering as mid-range workstation cards. If you want to game though, get a gaming card.

Workstation cards are insanely expensive and are generally lousy at gaming. Gaming cards are semi-insanely expensive and are generally good at gaming.
