Ok i have my q6600 overclocked to 3.00 ghz (333 x 9) and the lowest possible voltage i can get orthos to run stable at is 1.3000 v. My ram is OCZ platinum ddr2 800 mhz. The memory is running at 1000 mhz @ 5-5-5-18. Is 1.3000v a voltage that wont decrease the life of my cpu by much? Also nothing seems to read my voltages correctly. Coretemp says 1.2875 (which is my default cpu v) no matter what i do, same with RMclock. CPU-z also reads my voltage wrong it says 1.248 v. However when i run prime95 cpu-z drops from 1.248 v to 1.200 v. Not sure if this is correct but if the drop is correct is this an accceptable vdroop? Should i pencil mod my mobo in order to achive a lower cpu voltage? Is pencil modding dangerous?
Edit- after 10 minutes of prime 95 my system became unstable at 1.3000 v... System appears to stable at 1.3065 v im not running prime95 for to long because i am waiting on the arrival of my new heatsink and my cpu is heating up alot.

Try the new beta of CPU-Z -- it's supposed to read the vcore correctly.
If you pencil mod the board, it'll only help w/ the idle vcore. It's good to lower idle temps and/or allow for more vcore to be delivered to the chip. What mobo are you using?
Is it dangerous? I dunno, I've been pencil modding boards and chips for 8 years now and (knock on wood) haven't experienced a problem.
I'm using an evga 680i LT and i get mine Q6600 to 3.24@1.216v on air with vdroop mod, now after about 5 monthes my computers giving me **** and running like 10º hotter while idling, i'd say unless you get a new comp every year don't bother with the mod.
1.5V is the max for the Q6600, so 1.3V is perfectly fine. Vdroop is a good thing, up to a certain point. I'd say that certain point is somewhere around .05V, and you're within that so it's fine. Unless you really have the need to eliminate it, I wouldn't bother it and just set a higher vcore.
