I've decided on a x1950xt card for my pc but i just found a 512mb version thats not on the 2007 vga charts.

Will it make any difference to have the 512mb or the 256mb ?

nither of your links work. you just need to press the link button when posting links, then it will shorten it for you and still work fine.

any who, the difference between the two will be non-existent if you play at lower resolutions. Higher resolutions on the other hand will play better with the 512MB card. Also iv heard that some of the newer games require 512MB cards to be able to set the graphics options to max in game. other than that....not much of a difference.

so what res do you play at? or plan to play at?

Well i have a 22" widescreen and i play in 1024 x 768 with med/lower settings on most game, time for a better card.
Current card is an 6600gt agp, I'll buid the new pc with pci-e.
Fixed the links(i think)

On a 1024x768 screen, I don't think there will be any difference between the 256meg and 512meg.
I think you will notice a difference on 1600x1200 and higher.
The X1950XT will blow away the 6600GT.

well 22 inch screens run at 1680x1050 so i think 256mb will be okay. however for significant aa increases you might need the 512mb. also some games won't run at their best (i think doom3 can't run ultrahigh without 512mb) unless u have 512mb but its a select few. i think u'll be fine with the 256mb version however.

If you want no compromises, ultra settings (textures,AA) then go with the 512mb. You can get by with the 256, but theres a few games where the 512 will shine

what everyone said.

seeing as the difference in price is minimal, go for the 512mb version.

Umm, for $300 why not buy an 8800GTS 320MB card instead? It will let you play at full detail at your native resolution for most games and is considerably faster than even an X1950XTX 512MB card.
