I'm going to pair it with a Quad6600.

I see all sorts of specs, mostly saying something in the 700w+ range. However, I'm not sure which ones support the amp/rail requirement.

Thanks.

I got a 750W Silverstone but that was with SLI in mind. You could go with a reputable brand name and about 600W to be safe. Also go with a 36 amp output. Remember that the total 12v amperage isn't always clearly shown. Take the total wattage output for the 12v rails and divide that by 12. If your buying a single 12v rail psu than obviously you don't have to worry about that.

i got PC Power and cooling silencer 750w
you don't need that much power unless you're doing sli in the future
i just bought it cause they have a solid reputation and good quality.
i think there was a psu made by corsair that alot people said was very good. anyone know about it?

The HX620. It would be an excellent choice. It provides 620watts and 50amps on the +12v rail. It should be more than enough. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817139002 It's on sale to boot!

Definatly the corsair is a great choice. What's your price range?

I've got one running nicely overclocked on an Antec Neo 430W. Does the job with no fuss.

Price is $100-$200. However, I'd like to not spend more than necessary as I also succumbed to the dark side and bought a 360elite (wife said "whatever.." ) cause crackdown is killer and I can't play co-op with my son without two consoles.

I went with Seasonic's M12 700W modular power supply. It can be had for $190 (after $20 mail-in rebate) plus around $8 shipping from newegg at the moment.

Funny, I picked up an Xbox360 Elite less than a month ago as well. Anyways, OCZ makes a good 700W PSU for $150 ($140 after MIR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817341002
I use it and haven't had any problems with it other than it's size; it's too small for my full tower so I had to to a bit of modding to make it fit. It powers my dinosaur of a system without issues:

AMD Athlon X2 4800+ @ 2.6GHz :(
2GB PC3200 DDR (2-3-3-6)
eVga Geforce 8800GTX
eVga Geforce 8600GT
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music
BFG AGEIA PhysX
PowerColor ATI Theater Pro 550 PCIe 1x
250GB Western Digital 7200RPM 16MB cache SATA HDD
3 DVD/RW drives
1 Floppy
4 80mm LED cooling fans and 1 120mm LED fan.

I'm running on an Enermax Liberty 620w, it's been pushing a rig in one form or another for nearly 2 years now.

I run multiple monitors, and I often like to watch live TV on my secondary monitor when playing games. Unfortunately, running a video source on a second monitor while also running games causes issues with the 8800GTX(performance and visual artifacts), and I needed to run a Geforce 8 series class card as the secondary one to replace my 7800GT which did not function properly in this configuration.

Thanks! Good to know, I might try that too at some point. I got the 8800 GTX but ran out of cash so no second monitor yet :)
