why don't my dvd rw read dvd+r disc, but reads dvd movies from the store

  1. If the DVD disk in question is read in another working DVD drive, the problem is the DVD player in question is not programmed to read DVD+R or more likely the unit is bad and needs replaced.
  2. Store bought DVDs are dvd rom.
    It is a different format.
    Sometimes a dvd-r can be used but it will depend on the player.
  3. Try downloading VLC media player.

    Insert your DVD, right click on the drive, and play with VLC.
