Hello everyone!

I've just purchased a new rig with the following specs:

e6320 1.86ghz 4MB cache
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-145-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793

2 x 1gb geil ddr2 800mhz value ram
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-064-GL&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813

abit fp-in9 sli 'fata1ity' motherboard
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-124-AB

I'm also using an ASUS Excalibur copper cooler with ArcticSilver thermal paste.

The reason I bought the e6320 was the increased cache over the e6300 and the alleged overclockability of the chip - I've read of people attaining 3ghz plus on air cooling similar to mine.

I'm no expert when it comes to overclocking but I've dabbled a bit and managed to get the system to run stably at 2.63ghz. Basically I'd like to know from you friendly folks whether I can get any more from this system?

These are my current BIOS settings:

Vcore = 1.45v
V nb = 1.24v
Vddr2 = 2.0v
Vtt = 1.20v <---------- I have no idea what this is - I'd appreciate it if someone would explain it's significance!

FSB = 4 x 375 mhz (1500 qdr)
CPU freq = 2625mhz
DDR2 freq = 750mhz (synced with the cpu)

Previously I tried running the ram at its 800mhz spec but I could only get a ~1450 qdr FSB. Running the cpu/ram in sync slowed the ram a bit but allowed me to POST with a higher FSB.

Idle temps with current settings are ~36c according to BIOS. I haven't managed to check what the load temps are but I'm sure they're cool enough looking at the idle temps.

So please if anyone can get me to beat 3ghz you'd make me a very happy bunny.

Cheers :)

Thank you mousemonkey...

I trusted you with the VTT definition, thought what the hell and ramped up it's voltage to 1.50v

I also raised the DDR2 voltage to 2.05 to add extra stability.

Then with a little bit of luck I've managed to persuade my system to run Vista with a 1775MHz FSB which translates to around 3.11GHz :>

I've kept the RAM in sync with the FSB so it's running around 900MHz-ish.

I've kept the CPU voltage at 1.45v so it's still giving me nice cool idle temps of about 36c.

I think the only thing stopping me getting much higher now will be the need to increase the NB voltage some more (I'll need a new heatsink for it as the standard one is fanless and is quite warm to the touch now).
Also I've heard that the FP-IN9 board tops out at around the FSB speeds I'm running now but we'll see when I get that new NB heatsink & fan.

You gotta love these Conroes!
