Do I need drivers for my old optical drive because I'm building my 1st system. I'm taking the optical drive out of an HP m2010n pc. I think its an LG optical drive. If i do need drivers where do i get them?

You shouldn't need any additional drivers, they're automatically installed. This is why you can boot off the Windows CD on a new build, the Optical drive drivers are already installed
