Hi there,

I'm building a new setup, and my original plan was to build a setup with a primary drive of a double 74GB Raptors in RAID-0.

I've been getting a lot of negative feedback regarding this issue when asked around.

Anybody has an opinion regarding this(putting aside cost) ?

Is it worthwhile ?
Would it make a big difference from a RAID- 0 of two standard SATA's ?
What about the noise ?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have those raptors?
If not, they are fast but expensive, low capacity, noisy.

I just upgraded from Vista 32 with Seagate 320 to Vista 64 with dual Seagate 320 in Raid-0. I wanted to go dual raptors 150 but was way to expensive and just 1 raptor was too small.

Raptors was the best when they got in but today's HD are not bad. I got my 2 Seagate @ 85$CAD each compare to 250$CAD for a 150 raptor.

I must say that I never had a raptor but read a lot of threads about it. THG have article and comparison
