My disk drives recently just stopped reading/recognizing CDs i put into the drives and they are not recognized under My Computer.

The device manager says: A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

The drives were running fine 2 days ago until I installed an Nvidia DualTV tuner. I uninstalled the drivers for the TV Tuner and rebooted and the drives had the same error when I looked in the device manager.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

Drives: SONY DVD-ROM DDU1615
TSST corp CD/DVDW SH-S182D

just to make sure check the jumpers on your drivers to ensure they are master/slave.

then do a system restore back a couple of days to fix the drivers.

click on start, all programs, accesories, system tools, system restore.

a small calendar will pop up showing you restore points and telling you what you installed, find the date where you installed the tv tuner and pick a point previous to that date, let it restore, it takes a while so get a beer while you are waiting and you should be good when it restarts.
