thats not always the case and ASUS has great support for alot of CPUs out there and the list is Massive long on Intel Single daul and quad support BUT....

ASUS also not only supports E6X50 series with 1333FSB support in the dual cores not the Quads only in 1066FSB right now. Mite Just be a matter of time before they add support but ASUS has a case of only offering certain revision or certain steppings of a cpu.

to get a E6X50 to work you need Bios 1202 and if you call ASUS maybe they will let you know when .

BUT.... i think they are only going to offer QX's with 1333FSB will be offered to the G33,P35 and X38s and the next Gen Nvidia chipsets

Maybe it will BUT Not right now

as of ASUS offical CPU support for that board there is NO QX6850 Just
Core 2 Extreme QX6800 (4 cores,2.93GHz,1066FSB,L2:2X4MB,rev.G0) w/ Bios 1203
if its not on the LIST then it will not post and not all 1333FSB CPUs will be working with all esisting board becuase they want to spread them out for the next gen boards and the newer CPUs.

Not true actually. I had just received my Asus Striker Extreme and QX6850 from NCIX last week, it came with the 0901 bios, posted no problem, bios automatically set the FSB to 1333 and recognized the processor as a QX6850.
