I'm thinking of building a new system, mainly for gaming but also for some programming and 3d modelling and rendering (with Vue 6 Pro Studio and K3D).

I was thinking of building it around either a Core 2 Duo E6750 or E6600 with 2GB of 1066MHz RAM with room to add more later. A 500GB SATA-2 HDD (with the possibility of adding a second HDD later) and a DVD writer. What is a good motherboard to use with this configuration?

Also is the Geforce 8800GTS worth the price increase over the 8600GTS?

How powerful will the PSU need to be to power this configuration?

Apologies if this is in the wrong section and thanks for any help.

8800GTS (Even the 320 one ) is definitely worth the price , because 8600GTS doesnt perform very well , i recommand u getting 550wat + for PSU

Another suggestion I would like to throw out there, sometimes overlooked, is your case selection. I just built my latest system with an Antec 900 case and I am extremely pleased with it. Excellent cooling layout.
