P35-DS3P Won't Hold FSB Settings

I'm new to the forum and hoping one of you gracious individuals can help me.
I just built a rig using the P35-DS3P mobo and a Core 2 E6750.
Everything runs smoothly, but the only way I can overclock is using Easytune. When I set the CPU Host Frequency in the BIOS to anything other than 333 MHz, the system will boot to the title screen then reboot and change my CPU Host Clock Control back to 'disabled'.
I had it work one time out of about 30, but then ended up having to reset the BIOS because of a bad CD drive, and it hasn't worked since.

I also disabled all of the other nonsense like RGB, CIA2 and all of the CPU settings (Speedstep, etc.)

What gives here?

Thanks in advance.

Nevermind, figured it out.
Apparently setting your SATA controllers to AHCI mode and adjusting your CPU Host Frequency aren't allowed. Changed the controllers to PATA mode, and problem solved.

Scratch that. It must have been one of those random times when it decided to hold the BIOS setting.
I'm right back to square one. Change the FSB, boots to title screen, reboots with CPU Host Frequency disabled.

I'm really getting ticked at this point.

Hi
If you have 6750 then it's 8x333=2664 Mhz. Try 400x8, make sure PCI-E is set at 100 and voltage settings at Auto. You don't have to disable the power saving functions like CIA2 / CPU Enhanced Halt / CPU Thermal Monitor 2 / CPU EIST Function, if you don't want to go overboard with OC!
Wish you luck.

Hi
Got this one to work by hitting ctrl f1 then going into the tweaker. Mine is a 6850 so i set the host freq to 400 and multi x9. then set the mem freq to 400 with a multi of x4.working great now. PCI is set at 100.....

good luck

Me too, at first I increased the fsb from 266x9(2.4GHZ) to 295x9(2.655GHZ),
that worked perfectly but when i increased it to 333x9 cpu-z still says it's 295, the BIOS holds my settings but nothing else recognizes the changes, i've tried setting the fsb back to 266, 300, 330, 333 and 334 but no matter what I do cpu-z says it's at 295MHz. I can still change the multiplier though but i'm already at 9.

I'm at a loss too, I was hopping to get to at least 3GHz with my brand new G0 Q6600

I've disabled C1E and EIST
Voltage is 1.6875(BIOS) 1.312(cpu-z)
RAM is +.1v, stock timings 4,5,5,15, 1:1 FSB: DRAM ratio
PCI is at 100MHz
BIOS is still F3, should I update it?

System specs:
Gigabyte p35-ds3r
Q6600 G0
Zalman cnps9500 w/AS5
4x1GB OCZ DDR2 667
Sapphire X1800XT 256MB
