Here is the system I'm thinking of putting together any feedback would be appreciated.
MB: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD 64 x2 3800+ 2.0 gHz (socket 939)
RAM: CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWINX2048-3200C2PT
CPU Heatsink & Fan: Artic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro
Power Supply: XCLIO Goodpower 500W
HDD: 1x WD SATA 320 gb 7200 rpm 1x SeaGate 500 gb 7200 rpm (already have)
VIDEO: EVGA 256-P2-N615-TX GeForce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 (maybe two with SLI link)
DRIVES: Memorex 52x32x52 CD RW (all ready have) Sony 16x DVD RW (all ready have)
CASE: APEVIA X-PLEASURE-BK Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower
MONITOR: Dell E228WFP
I'm going for something cost effective that will be able to handle some gaming, but mostly video editing and compiling. I'll also be using it for graphics work.
I have the MB. Dual 16x video lines is great. It's the best board I own as far as graphics display. Not sure about the socket 939 built. I currently have two 939 systems running, 4800x2 7800GT SLI on the A8N32-SLI and a FX55 on an ASUS A8N Deluxe 7600GT SLI. The socket has been discontinued you know. I upgraded a kid's 3800 venice 939 system to a 3800X2 dual core a couple of weeks ago. Old parts by now and an X2 is getting hard to find already. You might want to go to AM2 with a dual 16x northbridge instead. Two 7900's would be better than 2 7600GTs if you can afford it. The A8N32-SLI runs very hot at the Northbridge, have plenty of airfow and case fans to cool it.

Yeah I'm aware that 939 has been discontinued, hence the low cost. Like I said I'm not looking for anything cutting edge. Right now I'm running a 6 year old Socket A AMD Athlon 750 mHz computer with an ATI 9200 series video card with only 780+ mb of RAM.
I'm thinking what I'm building will be a HUGE leap from that.
As far as the cooling I've heard that other places and decided to opt for the Artic Cat heatsink and fan combo. I read that it's a monster.
The case I'm getting (or looking at) runs 2 120mm fans (one in back and one on the side) with 2 80mm fans in the front end of the case so air flow shouldn't be too much of an issue with the CPU fan running also.
I've found the processor and motherboard (think the two of them cost me a total of a little less than $230.
dude! i hate to rip you but why would you go amd 939 and ddr????
am2 is so much cheaper for chip, you get way better performance with ddr2 like 4-4-3-5 skill for $115 at egg (2gb)
xclio psu? omg! get a good psu - i can sell you a used micro velicity -- any thing .. antec silverstone
non raptor wd drives suck get seagate - sorry its just me
linking 2 video cards is never better then if you spent double the money for the better card - this is proven is THG video card reviews and else where = pop for the 8800GTS 320
finally sony dvd drives blow - i used to use them until i tried to burn some movies - yuk - get the pioneer
sorry u asked!
