I am using the KANDALF and I absolutley love it. It was fairly easy, even if time consuming, to set up. Even when over clocking my E6700, with eVGA 8800gts, and 2 gigs of OCZ ram, my system never gets above about 30c. While it's not totally silent, it is fairly quite. I bought one for work, and now I'm buying one for home. It's a great deal for an all in one solution. Also you should check out OZC's new FLEXX ram which is liquid cooled. The liquid cooling system isn't at all overly fancy, but it surley does the job well. If you intend to add more than two or three cooling points, I would buy a bigger pump. But the setup is pretty freaken cool. Not only is the case very functional, and extremely huge (note that thermaltake calls it a supertower, which is bigger than a full tower by no small measure), it is also very cool looking. I like it far better in person than I did in the pics. The only annyoing thing is the door situation. it is somewhat akward. you have to manually open it, and then hold it open if you need to use the disk drive. Other than that, I'm really satisfied with it, and am very glad I took the plunge. it was my first time ever to build a system, and most surley my first time to ever install and use liquid cooloing. I would, and will, do it all over again.
aking you are great! you are the one i was looking for...
i always loves when people with the product answers... from their own experiance....
so thanks a lot...
what's you room temp? 30C is very nice... at winter i hold my CPU at 19c at max load- but i have stock fans only so it's very nice temp...but!!! at summer it's 29-35c in my room... no AC... i prefer to put the money on a new PC.... maybe i'm crazy... but that's me....
the DOOR is also in my mind very very anoying thing! and it's bad points for the case in my mind...
especially if you say you have to hold it open! if the ARMOR LCS had a 36cm radiator i'll go for it...disabling the 2 stupid wings....
i thought about a solution- e-sata case with the dvdrw in it.... by the keyboard or the LCD...
it's a very nice solution... just waiting to see a e-sata case for opticals....
Tt changed the page of KANDALF LCD with more details then before - now claiming that the SYS can hold SLI's...
i doubt it could hold a GTX SLI... so i tought combining it with the BigWater 745 or SE for the SLI.
or! changing the CPU block to heat exchanger (Tt has very nice one!) & adding a 24cm radiator between the VGA cards points...
but if you say to change the pump... i'll add the 745 kit... the little radiator between the VGAs will make a fantastic results i think.... (pump>vga1>12cm rad>vga2>24cm>pump).
i also thought about a much cheaper case with Water cooling holes & External LCS...
the bad points go to space- lot's of it & the case have to be in the hight of the LCS (not on the desk & the LCS on the floor), the good point goes for money & efficiancy...

Forget the Thermaltake Kandalf LCS. The case is great, but the water cooling parts suck. I had it for about 6 months, and decided to change my water and found out that the radiator piping is only 1/4 inch, as well as all of the internal fittings are only 1/4 inch. They do use 3/8 inch tubing but that's about where the good part ends.

what do you suggest???? do you have recommendations on another case?!

I actually like the older CM Stacker. You can get a window for it if you "really need to", and there are 2 basic types. 1 of them has the option to use 2 power supplies, one at the top and one at the bottom. If you want to just use one power supply the bottom space can hold two 80mm fans, also there is a huge amount of space left over where a PSU and cables would go so maybe a great spot for a RAD. The OTHER older CM stacker doesn't have the option for a 2nd PSU, but it does have two 120mm fans in the rear and if you were to occupy one of the fans with a RAD the spot for the other fan would still be working super duper like it should.
Depending on your mother board one case that few people look into is the Aerocool Masstige. It's an inverted case, so if you have heatpipes then don't even bother looking at it unless you can get mosfet coolers, and NB/SB coolers as well. If you don't have heatpipes on your mobo then this case along with the Zerodegree(also Aerocool) are great for water cooling because you can put the water cooler right up front so it sucks up nice cool are. Between the 2 I couldn't really decide because one has a door and I hate doors, and the other one doesn't have a couple of the extras.
There are many many cases out there that have great water cooler characteristics, like the Antec P180, the Tt Armor, alot of Silverstone cases and basically any Lian li.
Whatever you do though, get a good quality water cooling setup. As far as I'm concerned the best affordable h20 kit is the Swiftech H20-120 kit. It's priced around 140~180. It's not the best of the best but it's pretty darn good, with good quality parts and performance. I honestly think the Kaldalf LCS performs the same as this kit. Although I will admit, that sometimes they make a fluke part, but they are always good about getting you fixed up. Danger den is also great, and so is EK.
I have just got into water cooling, research goes a long way. From what I understand the Kandalf is a great case but if your looking for water cooling custom is the only way to go. Depending on what parts you want to cool and what motherboard and other components you have you must select several products from several different manufacturers. Check out Danger Den and Swiftech. Also if you find a decent hardware store you can find all kinds of different connectors and tubing to use that can save you money. Water cooling is going to cost you more than 150$ to do it right. My setup including water blocks for my motherboard, graphics cards, cpu, pump, coolant container, coolant, tubing, fittings and radiator is running me about 500$. This may be a little extreem but in my world you do it right or you don't do it at all.
the rig i'm planning on is round 4000$ include the KANDALF LCS.
the P180 i can get for 160$. i looked at koolance 720 something... 200$ i think it's nice...
but!
i thought about doing things easy, this is y kandalf LCS or any other built in LCS cases are very nice...
but for all i know for now i'm gonna go with a more simple case, the larger the better. & external- on top type cooler kit. like the koolance or Tts.
For the VGA cards what can you say about the Tt air+LCS type thing... it's nice... & quite...
the problem is- In Israel the gaming market is close to 0!
when i bought my friends rig- 2500$ very nice rig- it took the to bring the XFX 8800GTS 320 XXX 2 months! the supplier talked to me personally coz he didn't know what & how to get it... on his own fault he gave us the gts 640MB! XXX, a +120$ card with no extra cash... so in my opinion it was worth the two months...
P.S.
i'm hoping to open a section of gaming rigs in a PC company very soon... so than the prices will be for very very low for me in my pic i'm in my friend PC shop...
but! it's very hard.... a 1500$ rig is a lot here for some reason... the knowlege about gaming here is very low... water cooling is unknown section... only starting to developing here...
so, for every product i want i have to think if it can be reachable....
this is y i go for standart things... like the Kandalf LCS...
Maziar- P.S. the Armor is like the Kandalf but without door & smaller radiator.
if the guy says the LCS on the kandalf is not so good, so is the Armors....
they r the same....
