I want to start playing my game consoles on my PC monitor, since the TV I use right now is garbage. I have a HIS Radeon X1950 Pro PCI-Express video card with 2 DVI connectors and a VIVO connector. So I connected my console's video connector to the VIVO connector using a yellow adapter I found in the video card box. I plugged everything in and booted up my computer and console.
I don't know what to do now. I've tried using a few different video capture software packages, but none of them are detecting any capture hardware. Am I doing something wrong?
You got it all wrong. VIVO means video in video out. You cannot do it like the way you say, that means simultaniously. Anyway you didn`t say what your console is? I`ve got a big chance that you could buy an adapter for a console-monitor setup.
Yea, video capture would mean creating a file on disk for everything you play... I don't think the computer should be involved in this at all, it's just between the console and monitor. What kind of outputs does the console have? What kind of inputs does the monitor have?
