Case: CoolerMaster Stacker 832
CPU: Intel QX6700
MOBO: Striker Extreme
Video Card: BFG GeForce 8800 Ultra OC 768mb
PSU: Silencer 750W Quad
HDD: Western Digital Raptor X 150GB
Sound Card: SB X-F1 Elite Pro
Here is my questions...
1.) Is the QX6700 a hardcorce cpu for gaming and multitasking?
2.) What is the difference between the sound card I have listed and the Creative Labs X-Fi Xtreme Music?
3.) What will I need to build the PC? ie; sata cable, DVI cable, thermalpaste, fans etc?
4.) What kind of RAM should I get, I plan on using Vista w/XP
5.) How does dual channel memory work?
Thanks.

------------------------------Two roads diverged in a wood, and I---
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
1) the qx6700 is great for both gaming and multitasking.
2)I would loose the striker board, its costs more than its worth and many people have lots of trouble with it. I suggest getting a great p35 chipset board if you aren't going SLI
3) That PSU is great, but its more than you need. You can get something a little cheaper like a Corsair 620W.
4)I'd loose the Raptor since it doesn't really help and you wont see much performance gain for the money, get a nice big HDD that is cheaper (I have a raptor in my computer and wish I would have gotten something cheaper)
5) For ram get some nice DRR2-800 ram with Cas 4 Latency.
6) all the cables should come with the hardware. The motherboards come with sata cables and IDE connectors so you don't have get any. Thermalpaste will come with the cooler included with the CPU, unless you want to get something else. Unless you plan to overclock, you don't really need to get any other paste.
7) Dual channel just speeds up memory/data transfer from the two ram modules.
If you have any other questions msg me. AIM/yahoo: Maximsu9102
I would keep the Raptor as any time your computer has to wait for data you'll get in game pauses. Raptors feel much more responsive when doing really anything, even loads Windows in under 25 seconds. I don't ever see that blue welcome screen before getting to desktop anymore. As for cooling I would get either the Tuniq Tower 120 or the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme being no 1. For sound I'd get the X-FI Xtremegamer Fatal1ty Pro series.

Due to my company's policy for a "PC Purchase Program" I have to purchase with a purchase order so PCCONNECTION is my only choice where I can get everything with a decent discount.
