I have a tv that supports 1080i, and a monitor that is wsxvga or 1680x1050. Now that I am building a new computer, i want a graphics card that can support both resolutions. I was going to go for an overclocked xfx 8800gts 320mb. However, i am not sure if that card will be enough to play games/watch movies on my tv as well as my monitor. What card will be powerful enough to handle 1080i with a monitor? thanks
Both would work for movie's, as for playing games it depends on the rest of your rig. If your computer isn't a old clunker then gaming on the 640 would be fine but I'm not sure about the 320 with upcoming games. Imo if you have the money go for a gtx but if you don't then both of those should do fine for now.
I am building quite a rig so that wont be a problem at all. q6600 w/G0, 2x500gb hds, p-35 mb, liquid cooling, 2x1gb 800 memory. I just dont know how much gaming i am going to be doing on it in the next 6 months. i have a 360 which is good enough for now. part of me wants to hold off on a gtx and wait to see the new cards that will come out in the next year maybe a nvidia 9800?!?!?!. But on the other hand, i may see the new games that come out around Christmas and regret getting the 320.
