Ok im sure this has been asked many times. I am trying to upgrade my vid card. I am looking at getting a Gforce 7900 GS. That vid card is PCIe. My mother board is a MSI KT3V. I am pretty sure I do not have a PCIe slot on it. My question is will a PCIe card work in a PCI slot or do I need to look for a new vid card that is not PCIe. Dont really want to replace my motherboard at this point.

you need a pcie slot for a pcie card. if your board doesn't have one, forget the new card you need to upgrade it; it is an ancient board if it doesn't have either AGP or PCIE slots on it.

ok well then you can get an agp card. go to newegg and do a power search and check only agp slots. they make an agp 78 series or 79 series card, obviously not as good as an 88 or something that is pcie, and a bit more costly depending, but at least it'll be better than what you have (at least i think lol)
