I would like to know if I will run into problems with the following build:

Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 226BW 22in
Case: Silverstone Temjin SST-TJ04
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Dual Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus
Memory: 2 - Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066Mhz PC2 8000 1GB
Combo Drive: NEC AD-7170A Black
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB SATA2
Video Card: Asus Extreme EN8800GTX
Power Supply: OCZ EvoStream 720W
OS: Windows VISTA Home Premium

Actually the case and monitor will be for my wife’s computer (My old computer). The case I will use will be a Silverstone Lascala LC10M-S and I use the TV in the Living room.

Thanks

Looks fantastic, though the RAM might need some extra BIOS tweaking to get it to run at the right speed.

By tweaking, I need to change the voltage setting for the memory? Thanks for replying. :)

Should I get the 32bit or the 64bit version of Windows Vista?

Thanks

you should get the 64bit to go with your processor type but 32bit will work as well. don't adjust your memory voltage it should work as is. good luck on your new build!

Thanks guys. I'll go ahead with this build.

Just keep in mind that Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, is a Dual-Dual(Quad-Core Processor), and going 64-bit OS is the way of the future, Microsoft supposedly will stop work on 32-bit by end of this year, just as your quad-core processor will become the standard for game support.

P.S If your not sure about your Q6600 being a G0 stepping, you can get yourself a Xeon X3220 And because it's higher binned(and Cheaper due to it being unknown) it'll be overclockable at minimum as good as an avg G0 (even on a B3 Stepping) and if it is a G0 than you have the pick of the bunch:)

Unless you're going for really high overclocks, it's unlikely that you'll need DDR2-1066. You can save a few bucks and buy Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800.

So what of Windows 7 that may be with us in three years or so in 32 bit & 64 bit versions?

'Like Vista, Windows 7 will ship in consumer and business versions, and in 32-bit and 64-bit versions.'

Thanks for the tip on the memory, I questioning how much of a difference I will see with the DDR2-1066 over the 800. I was told not to get the 64Bit Vista because of the driver problems, is this true?
