How to differentiate an old Q6600 from the new G0 version?

Hy everybody
now with the advent of the 22th price cuts I really want to get one of those Q6600
however I am a hardcore overclocker and I want the G0 stepping which I heard its the best for OC
not long ago there was an article regarding the L2 stepping, theer you could find lots of good info how to differentiate the L2 stepping.

do you guys know how to do the same thing with the G0 s?

Th ey ensure you get g0 stepping. You could also walk into a store and look on the case. Other than that, I don't think normal internet stores make any difference between the two.

yes , look at the case, but look for what? you wont see "GO stepping" with capital letters on the cpu box

On the bottom of the box the Oroduct Code(PROD CODE) must end with SLACR

btw the code of the b3 stepping is SL9UM

Don't go for the SLUMP(Or ISLUM(9=I))(SL9UM)
Go only for the SLICER(SLACR)

Just a quick question,

How do I check my preinstalled CPU prod code. Is there a software for that. Anyhow just a curiosity I am not able to OC, cause BIOS doesn't allow me to.
