Auto Cad like program needed

Howdy Partners!!

Wombat here,

I got a little project I would like to take up...

It all started with me wanting a smick looking gaming chair/body enclosure, now I cant source any in Australia, so I tough I may as well build one,

I have two cert 3's in graphical design, and I'm pretty handy with a welder. So to start with the project I would like to draw up a 3d Model of the chair which I would like to create.... It would look similar to this:

Now I have taken allot of things into account, my question today is:

What free Autocad like software is there "these days" that I could use. (I'm know autocad back to front)

I'll need something that I can project dimensions off..

Is ProgeCAD any good? Is there anything better? Open to suggestions

Thanks Wombat,

another option is to get a trial version of one of the bigger versions. perhaps autocad offers a trial? this would probably be the quickest option since you already know the in-and-outs of it.

The project could take a while depending on when I want to start production... so it would only expire, thanks though!
