Got a mate who wants a new machine, he can't build his own and I can't be bothered with the hassle of building one for him.

Any suggestions for somewhere decent int he UK that builds machines from specs?

I believe you underestimated how lazy/helpless/pathetic people are.

We have sarcasm in England.. Is there an issue with asking poeple who have experience of pc's a pc related question? Yes I "can" google pc builder and go to the website with the flashiest looking advert or I could ask and get people's opinion's/recommendations/experiences.

Maybe getting opinions is lazy rodney_ws? I personally see it as being thorough. I find your reply helpless and pathetic so in future keep them to yourself.

How I wish most forum folk were girls, then these cat-fights would do something for me. ;)

Blow it off guys, it's nothing you'll ever remember in a week anyway, right?

Something along the lines of "I used xxxxx and they were "

A. Shite - don't go near.
B. Very good - I recommend.

..was all I was after. Seems that has been lost in translation.

So moving forward.. if anyone feels the need to reply please only stick to the original question.

You didn't mention money as an object.... Falcon NW and Voodoo will both deliver to and service from anywhere.

Then there is the obvious Dell, HP, Acer, etc. Don't know if Gateway do UK, they don't do AUS.

He's looking at £1500 tops.. luckily he only wants a 17" monitor which means more cna be spent on other parts.

Will defo take a look at Falcon and Voodoo.. cheers

Velocity Micro is usually a cheaper alternative to Falcon and Voodoo.

Avoid Alienware. I have heard far too many horror stories to recommend that company.

Rodney and Bytch: the whole point of this forum is to give other people advice and personal experiences. Mat was looking for advice on what builder others have had experience with. If you have no useful input, then leave it alone.
