I have a ZOOM 5654 router/modem which is headed for the trash.  It is still under warranty but I have given up after two returns.   It works fine for about a week and then it's modem not found, server not found!!  So I want to buy something that will be dependable.  I considered the D-Link DI604 but that is discontinued.   I noticed a thread that indicated someone was having problems with its replacement, the EBR2310.    So what is the recommendation for something dependable?

Depending on how much you want to spend, and if its a wireless router or a switch.  
 
Avoid Linksys, I've had more issues with their hardware than anyone else. My D-Link DIR 655 works like a charm, but is costly and wireless performance is questionable without pre-N hardware. I'm sure other D-Link options would work fine, I just dont like how the ftp site is down all the time.
