Suggestions on a motherboard for core duo mobile

Well, there I was, just started city of heroes and bammmmm my video card on my Dell ispiran notebook with a 7800 go pcie 256 vid card went to hell. Everything else in the laptop is good ram, cpu, hard drive etc... I was thinking there is a motherboard for a desktop that I can put that 2 ghz core duo into. I was under the impression its basically a core 2 duo in performance minus about 5 percent. So the question is what motherboard would the experts on this forumn recommend to put the core duo 2 ghz processor into and what could I expect on an overclock with a good heatsink.
