So I built a computer for my parents a few weeks ago, and up until now its been smooth sailing. See, it originally had only 512mb of ram, so I thought that I should add some more that I had laying around, however it was the wrong speed.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128051 My mobo only uses pc3200 and I had inserted 2800, thinking that it would still work by stepping down or whatever.

After inserting the ram and turning it on I knew there was a problem as the entire screen was messed up in bios, all staticy and diagonal. So I turn off the computer quick, remove the ram, and turn it back on. It works, so I'm glad, but now it has these really long system beeps whenever I turn it on.

These beeps last all the way into windows and sometimes do NOT go off. According to the mobo manual, long continuous beeps are a DRAM ERROR, but the bad memory is out. So what do I do to get rid of these stupid beeps?
