local shop had a sale on both of these on sale for $99 each. I elected to go with the OCZ at the time (that beautiful yet probably useless heatspreader probably won me over). anyways, now I am sort of having second thoughts.

which one should I have gotten for a gaming rig?

e4300 & ECS PT890T-A (plans to upgrade to GIGABYTE board very soon)
eVGA 8800 GTS
corsair 520w PSU
Seagate 500gb
(so far)

it may be overclocked at some point in time as well..

Personally id go for the OCZ. Really depends on opinion though.

only because It what I have used for the last 5 years of my computer life. Great tech support and RMA service. All products lifetime warranty.
But I hear patriot isnt bad either. I just nevre used them before is all.

I doesn't matter. Most if not all of any speed difference will be mitigated by the cpu cache. Get whichever one is the easiest to deal with.

Also I'd buy mushkin

I took Patriot but only cause ive got some no difference... yes Mushkin is good also.
