Anyone heard when the P35 motherboards with PCI Express 2.0 slots are coming out.

I heard that x38 mobo's with PCI Express 2.0 are coming out soon...but nothing about P35's with PCI Express 2.0.

The P35 motherboards are out already. They support PCI-E 2.0 unofficially. If you want official support you need the X38 motherboards, expected next month.

How much are the X38 motherboards going to be? I don't want to pay over 200 dollars. I'm more in the market to pay 100 to 150 dollars.

I'm thinking, when they say unofficial support for the P35's, It means yes the motherboard has the capability but not the slot.

What are they meaning by unofficial?

Evidently the slot needs more power, not only bandwidth to be considered 2.0; thus a probable physical change. To my knowledge no current P35 motherboard is truly PCI Express 2.0 compatible.
