right im considering buying an 8800 gts 640 (not neccesarily before g92 comes out as I have no money) but I must ask would my system be bottlenecking it badly? I have a fairly old mobo (socket 939, ddr ram etc), I have 2gb's ram, an amd x2 4200 and I think my PSU should cope (I will if I do buy this get an extra fan or 2 just to be safe), so.... what would the problems be? pls btw no one tell me its foolish to upgrade from what I have because if you read my signature you will discover I hate it (at least I think thats what my signature says).

No it wouldn't be foolish and you wouldn't bottleneck it, I think it would be a very nice upgrade to your PC, Unlike people running 2.8/3.0Ghz P4 with a GTX/Ultra.

I would agree with Emp and RoyalCrown. Make sure you got a decent PSU as X2's can use a bita juice, a decent motherboard... you said you had an older machine so im thinking maybe your 2gb's ram as with 4 DIMM's which will use the juice too, add an 8800 to that and you need a good PSU. Your other system components will not bottleneck the 8800. However, i would think that you would want a decent monitor to jack the Res up a bit otherwise you may not utilise all the 8800's power.
