Hello,
all of a sudden when ever i try to download programs off the internet such as Oovoo, Skype and Frostwire i get the "the dependency sevice or group failed to start" message. any suggestions or ideas to overcome/fix this??

First step is to look in the event log to see what error messages there are. In particular this should allow you to identify the service that isn't starting.
